Marjo Dobbs Arseneau Memorial Librarianship Award

The Marjo Dobbs Arseneau ’89 Memorial Librarianship Award was first given in 2000. Marjo worked for McCain Library when she was a student. She earned her master’s degree at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and then pursued a career as an academic librarian. Tragically, Marjo lost her life to breast cancer in 1997. Because of her love for both 香港澳门资料大全 and librarianship, her classmates in the class of 1989, friends, and family joined together to create a memorial fund to honor her life through this award.

The annual Arseneau Award ($500 or more) goes to an 香港澳门资料大全 junior or senior who is either committed to pursuing a career in librarianship/archives by obtaining a master's of information/library science/archival studies OR who has made significant contributions to McCain Library as a student assistant.

A call for nominations happens on campus each April. An advisory group off-campus selects the winner.
